The 'Nofit' light rail project managed by the Trans Israel Company is a regional light rail that will serve the residents of the north of Israel and create a fast and efficient transportation system between the cities of the northern metropolis of Israel connecting its three hubs - Haifa area, Karyot area and Nof HaGalil-Nazareth area. The 'Nofit' light rail is an advanced and environmentally friendly means of transportation. The train will be operated by electricity, using innovative, green technology and its advanced technology will allow for the first time in Israel continuous travel in urban and intercity segments, without the need to change between means of transportation.

The 'Nofit' light rail route stretches approximately 41 km, along which 20 transportation terminals and parking lots will be built. More than 30 train cars will move on the track at a maximum speed of 100 km/h, and with a frequency of every 4 to 10 minutes. About 100,000 passengers will transit every day to work, school or any other purpose using the light rail, thus reducing the traffic of polluting cars on the roads and expanding the range of options accessible to residents in the north of Israel.

The origin station will be at the central station of the bay in the city of Haifa. From there, the train will continue to Kiryat Ata (along the new road 781) and along road 79 near the settlements of Shafram, Raina, Mashhad and Bir al Machsor, it will cross the city of Nof HaGalil and reach its final stop in the city of Nazareth.

The works for the construction of the 'Nofit' light rail are divided into 4  segments. Each segment is divided into execution packages:

Section A: from the heart of the bay to shortly after the Ikea shopping center (Kiryat Ata)


Section B: from the area of ​​the North Ata Interchange to the Glaam Interchange (through the agricultural fields).

Section C: starts at the Glaam interchange and continues to Reina Square.

Section D: from the Mount Yona area in the Galilee landscape to Ziad Square in Nazareth

​Etgar Engineering and Consulting Ltd. manages
section B of the availability promotion and Infra 1 works for Trans Israel.

Stations in section B: Ha-Atzmaut station and Begin station in Kiryat Ata.
